Four of SA’s top personalities bring their hustle to STATUS, where respect is made along with the scent of success
August 2nd, 2017 – Johannesburg, SA – Four of South Africa’s most respected, ambitious and irrepressible personalities have joined forces to embody the spirit of our time and what it means to hustle, earning the respect of STATUS.
The Men of Status include top South African football player George Lebese, award-winning entrepreneur ProVerb, and world-class music duo Bandile and Banele Mbere from Major League DJz.
“Through their infectious and unstoppable energy, each of the four self-made achievers have put in the hours, persevered and got things done. Inspired by the confidence, drive and authenticity of the four Men of Status, four new fragrances of the hustle have been developed and tested “Best in Class” amongst South African men’s fragranced deodorants.
As Major League DJz, Bandile and Banele Mbere are the DJ duo pushing the boundaries of South African dance music, mixing elements of hip-hop, jazz and percussion which, along with their extraordinary live performances, place them on the cutting edge of the hustle.
Bandile Mbere brings his innate sense of confidence to Rich Ebony, a sensual fragranced deodorant for the gentleman who has an eye for the finer things in life, while Banele Mbere’s unstoppable spirit to live every moment to the fullest inspired the insatiable scent of Fierce Spirit.
As the scent’s name implies, Pure Endurance, is everything Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana star George Lebese wakes up for. Born in Mamelodi and now in his eighth year with the Glamour Boys, the fierce left winger’s masterful and courageous spirit has inspired a fragrance only fit for those men who are in it, to win it.
“For me it’s about moving up, it’s about believing in yourself, especially when others don’t. I like to get stuck in and put in the hard miles, the hustle. I want to be the last man standing, work up a sweat and smell great doing it!” says Lebese, who also recently launched his own non-profit foundation to serve children, youth and communities through education, sport and empowerment projects.
Like the man himself, the crisp and fresh Strong Legend fragranced deodorant takes its inspiration from entertainer extraordinaire ProVerb’s courage to chase and live his dream, no matter what. The self-proclaimed “hungriest head in hip hop” and South African Hip Hop Award-winning “Hustler of the Year”, put his money where his mouth is and went from humble beginnings in Kimberley to a 5-album artist with a flourishing broadcasting career. As co-owner of SIC Entertainment, ProVerb now supports other African talents producing shows such as Miss SA and Face of Africa.
The four New fragranced deodorant variants will be launched in stores in October, along with a new look for the brand’s other top selling variants such as Wild Ivory, Respect, Aztec Jade and Spiced Musk.
